June, 2025

Longtime Finance Leader Promoted as Christy Smith Announces Retirement

Community Care, Inc. is pleased to announce the promotion of Troy Newmeister to Chief Financial Officer. The promotion recognizes Newmeister’s more than two decades of dedicated service, his strategic leadership in finance, and his deep commitment to the organization’s mission.

Newmeister joined Community Care in 2003 and has since advanced through six finance roles, most recently serving as Controller. He is known for his methodical approach, collaborative leadership style, and passion for building systems that strengthen financial performance and support member care.

“This opportunity is both humbling and exciting,” Newmeister said. “Community Care has been my professional home for over 20 years, and I look forward to leading our finance team into the future—always keeping our members at the heart of what we do.”

Newmeister steps into the CFO role following the planned retirement of Christy Smith, who has served as Chief Financial Officer since 2010. Smith’s retirement marks the end of a 14-year tenure at Community Care and a remarkable 50-year career in finance.

“Christy has been an extraordinary leader and mentor,” said Newmeister. “Her impact on this organization—and on me personally—will be felt for years to come.”

Smith will retire at the end of June. She leaves behind a legacy of integrity, innovation, and strong financial stewardship.
